After our first Dog Hash last month, it was decided that we will be attending monthly dog hashes if possible! This round, we were joined by Toby and Russell. The run site for this month was in the forest located near Chinese Cemetery Path 4.
Before we started, there was be a short “brief” and to check who the newcomers aka virgins are. Just a heads up, it’s going to be a very long post with a ton of pictures.
And we’re off.
Five minutes into the run, the pups found muddy puddles to splash in.
Further down the walk, around 15 minutes in, there was a mud path/puddle that the humans had to cross.
We had our first water break.
We walked this area where there was very little grass and I was so pleased but my happiness was short lived as there was a huge mud puddle to cross.
Bf and I decided to cross the log on the right while Toby’s parents decided to cross the muddy path on the left. For once I was glad I trusted the bf’s decision because Toby’s parents got their shoes stuck in the mud. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to snap a picture of that as I was too busy trying to not fall off the log.
If crossing the first two path was bad enough, we had to cross this stream. This time, there was no chance of trying to not get muddy and dirty.
We finally got to our second stop. Everyone was gathered around, taking a short break while the pups played in the mud.
The last part before we left the forest to head back to our starting point was the “best” part. We had to cross the stream to reach the drain to go through to reach the exit. But on the plus size, there was wine!
After we got out, I thought we were at our starting point but nope, we still had another 10-15 minutes walk back.
This hash was definitely very different from the first hash. We really got down and dirty and it was a longer walk compared to the first.
I also learnt how smart Lycan truly is. We’re always thinking he’s not that smart because he doesn’t really do what he’s told. During this hash, there was this fallen tree that everyone had to climb across. We got Lexie to jump over followed by me climbing over. I tried to get Lycan to jump over and he tried a few times but didn’t have enough momentum to get over the tree. He suddenly stopped trying, turn to his right and ran. We called him back thinking what he was up to and you know what this boy did? He ran to the end of the fallen tree and went AROUND it. It was maybe less than 2 meters away but no one saw that and to have him find a way all on his own, it was really impressive. It was that very moment that I realised that he’s not stupid, he’s just stubborn/naughty! Like how some really smart kids find more fun in using their brain to be naughty than to listen and be good.
Even though I got my armpits tickled by really tall grass, gotten cuts on my arms and legs and even “stabbed” by a tree brunch till it bruised my sides, it was totally worth it. Can’t wait for the next hash!
